Chance of Assignment
Housing Assignments cannot predict vacancies; however, chance of assignment increases depending on:
- the number of spaces that become available,
- the number of students who apply, and
- the residences listed on applications
Summer Housing Guarantee
- Only single students can be guaranteed summer housing
- Guarantee is to have been offered an assignment by the end of the first week of classes
- Guarantee is not to a specific residence
Students applying for Single Graduate or Undergraduate housing are guaranteed housing if they apply by the first-round deadline and indicate on their applications that they are willing to live in any residence for which they are eligible. Students who apply after this date will be considered for assignment in the order their applications are received, with priority given to enrolled students.
Students who miss the First-round deadline lose the guarantee, but will continue to receive a high priority for assignment if enrolled for the summer.
Couples without Children and Students with Children are not guaranteed, however:
- most will be assigned, and
- students willing to accept subsidized, off-campus accommodations will have a better chance at assignment.
Students with children requiring a 3-bedroom unit have a very limited chance due to lack of availability.
