Stanford Ignite – Post-9/11 Veterans

Stanford Ignite participants

Stanford Ignite now has an offering for recent U.S. veterans to bolster their know-how about innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as support their transition to civilian life.

This full-time program is exclusively for Post-9/11 veterans and uses the same curriculum as our global Stanford Ignite offerings. It also features components such as career advising, visits to local Bay Area companies, and sessions with hiring managers. Stanford GSB alumni veterans will be actively engaged as mentors, guest speakers, and panelists evaluating student presentations.

The most important thing I took away from the program was the impression that being an entrepreneur is totally within my reach. It's a hard climb, a risky climb even, but Stanford Ignite gave me new tools and new ways of applying those tools that are already paying off and already driving performance in my new venture.

This program was transformative. Not only did I gain a better understanding of key analytical processes, I was also introduced to design thinking and other fundamental business functions - such as marketing, human resources, and strategic planning. I have already applied so much of what I learned at Stanford to streamline our operations here in Kenya, equipping more farmers to leave extreme poverty, forever.
