Welcome to the San José Department of Transportation.
What We Do
Our role is to operate, maintain, and improve San José’s 2400 miles of streets and related infrastructure. This includes the paved street surfaces, bridges, traffic signals, streetlights, signs, crosswalks, bike lanes, pavement markings, curbs, curb ramps, sidewalks, street trees and landscaping, as well as the public sewers and storm drains located within the streets. Additionally, we operate the City’s public parking lots and garages, and manage on street parking compliance, abandoned vehicle abatement, and street sweeping.
To provide a comprehensive and seamless network of transportation services for the San José community, we work closely with other public agencies that manage and improve our transit systems and our regional network of freeways and expressways.
Please explore our website to learn more about San José DOT, our services, programs, projects and partnerships. We look forward to working with you!
