Emotion Regulation Skills for Parents

Do you often lose patience with your kids? Do your kids trigger intense emotions in you? Have you often wished that you could have dealt with the situation in a better way? Children often learn emotion regulation skills from watching how their parents deal with their intense emotions. About the Speaker: Dr. Yael Enav is a clinical and organizational psychologist with over 15 years of experience working and treating in Israel and USA. She holds a master’s degree in child clinical psychology at Tel Aviv University, and her PhD degree in Clinical psychology at Ben Gurion University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on anger and sadness and the role they play in therapy. Dr. Enav has worked extensively with children, adolescents and their parents in leading mental health institutions in Israel. Yael moved two years ago to Palo Alto, California. Today she is part of the psychophysiology lab at Stanford University, leading a study about emotion regulation in children with ASD as well as in their parents. In parallel she is doing her post-doc clinical internship in the Faculty Staff Help Center, at Stanford University and has a private practice in Palo Alto.
