Biography

Eeshan Chaturvedi is currently pursuing his Masters in Environment and Policy Law from Stanford Law School. After graduating in the top 10% of his class from Symbiosis International University, India and attaining a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (equivalent of J.D.), he was selected as a Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of India, a highly sought after post with applications for candidature from all over the country. During his one year as a Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of India, he researched extensively on issues encompassing both criminal and civil laws, with special emphasis on International Arbitration Laws and Environmental Laws. After this, he became the first Law Clerk appointed by the National Green Tribunal of India, the highest Environmental adjudicatory body in India. With specific interest in International and Indian Environmental law and Policy, he worked on environmental issues relating from ground water restoration, restructuring of highways and other infrastructure projects, sustainable development requirements in policy framework, international oil spill and like cases.

Subsequently, having been admitted to the Stanford Law School, environment-dedicated legal procedures and systems and is keenly interested in strategic litigation and sustainable energy (He is also pursuing a course with the Graduate School of Business, Stanford in Sustainable Energy: Business Opportunities and Public Policy). His research focuses on development of an International Judicial System dedicated to Environmental Jurisprudence for effacious and timely settlement of issues relating to Environmental and Energy Laws and Policy. In the future, Eeshan wants to pursue a career in Public policy litigation in relation to environment, climate change and inter-generational equity.
