What is Color?

Color is a health technology company providing accessible, high-volume COVID-19 testing. Color will prepare your results, notify you when they are ready, and give you a secure way of viewing them online.

What type of test will be used?

The Color COVID-19 Test is a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) assay that tests for an active infection of COVID-19. It is not an antibody or a PCR test. The student collects the sample using a self-administered nasal swab (anterior nares).

What can I expect from Color in terms of results?

Color provides four types of results:
Positive for SARS-CoV-2. Positive indicates that SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) was detected in the patient’s sample. False positives are possible.
Negative for SARS-CoV-2. Negative indicates that SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) was not detected in the patient’s sample. False negatives are possible.
Inconclusive result for SARS-CoV-2. Inconclusive indicates that the test results were internally inconsistent and cannot be classified as either positive or negative.
Unsatisfactory sample. The test could not be completed.
