We know that you will experience new and unexpected challenges during your time at Stanford. Below, you can find a list of mental health resources to help you navigate challenging times.

Undergraduate Residential Staff

Resident Directors (RDs), Resident Fellows (RFs), and Resident Assistants (RAs). Trained professionals and student staff who can advise you about personal issues and assist with emergencies. They are available whenever you have a problem and can provide valuable insight from their own Stanford experiences.

Graduate Residential Staff

Graduate Deans, Community Associates (CAs). Staff and fellow Stanford graduate students who provide information, advice, assistance and, if needed, referrals, for academic and personal issues. They can assist students in finding services and information on the Stanford campus.

Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

Support center for all aspects of personal and professional development and life at Stanford for postdoc trainees. We support postdocs in all aspects of their training as they develop their independent careers. OPA collaborates with university organizations, faculty, postdocs, administrators, and external entities to support the personal growth and professional development of each postdoc in preparation for their independent research, professional, and academic careers.

Bridge Peer Counselors

Offers peer counseling by trained students. We offer anonymous 24/7 counseling to members of the greater Stanford community. Staffed by trained undergraduate and graduate Stanford students, we are here to listen and support. It is our belief that people have the fundamental ability to help and support others through personal interaction. We offer this interaction through peer counseling and support in an effort to guide those in need to develop their own solutions to problems.

Well-Being Coaches

Your partner in helping you make shifts in beliefs and behaviors to improve your overall well-being, or simply offer support when you're struggling. Well-Being at Stanford Coaches are experts in the change process and serve as skilled partners to help you make shifts in beliefs and behaviors to improve your overall well-being, or simply offer support when you’re struggling. With them, you can clarify values, set goals and priorities, talk through challenges, and create your own vision for well-being.

Weiland Health Initiative (CR)

Promotes mental health and wellness across the spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations through education, training and clinical services. We are a collective of medical providers, mental health professionals, staff, students, and community leaders that represent a partnership between multiple campus departments including Vaden Health Center and Queer Student Resources. Confidential Support Team (CR)

Offers support to Stanford students impacted by sexual assault and relationship violence, including domestic abuse, intimate partner abuse, stalking, and sexual or gender-based harassment and discrimination. CST also works with students who have been accused of these actions to help them understand their rights and options and provide emotional support and connection to appropriate resources. The CST is staffed by licensed psychologists and a licensed clinical social worker. There is no charge for Stanford students.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CR)

Offers individual consults, skills workshops, process groups, seminars, psychiatry services, community referral resources, 24/7 support line, and crisis intervention. Students, regardless of where they live, should reach out to CAPS to help find the support they need.  CAPS has a range of ways to support all students who are out of state, including: 24/7 crisis support, Care management consultation and help with treatment planning, Referral assistance to find care in a student’s local community, & Workshops and outreach events.
