Preservation Department

The Preservation department manages the long-term preservation of library collections for use in teaching, research, digital projects, and exhibitions around the world through the integrated work of three units:

Preservation

Oversees all aspects of collections care including, environmental monitoring, integrated pest management, collection assessment, disaster response training, and preservation education.

Binding and Finishing

Processes library materials for circulation and shelving, including bindery services, shelf preparation, and marking.

Conservation Services

Provides conservation treatment, exhibit loan support, assessments, training, and consultation.
