R2G2: Resubmission Surviving Grant Review

So you didn't get the grant the first time, you are not alone and this is far more common than you think! Join us for a moderated panel discussion with researchers from both the Engineering and Medical Schools, who have experience in the resubmission process for a variety of funding bodies including NIH, NSF and DoD. This is your opportunity to ask questions and obtain strategies and tips for surviving your grant review. April 18, 2018, 1200-1:30pm in Y2E2 Room 299. 


The Successful K08/K23: A Reviewers Perspective

Dr. Laure Aurelian will discuss the different award programs, and how to prepare an application that meets reviewers' expectations. She will present the most common misconceptions and provide an overview of the strategies to be used in order to write a competitive proposal. OFDD has created a "Suggestion Box" on our website

Dr. Yvonne Maldonado has been selected to receive the 2018 RISE Award April 28, 2018 
The Stanford Medicine Alumni Association Board of Governors RISE Award was created to honor those Stanford University Medical Center alumni who have made major contributions to the student experience, the path to excellence in education, or in supporting alumni engagement. The RISE Award is dedicated to those individuals who represent these values and have demonstrated exceptional dedication to nurturing our medical center and alumni community through leadership, volunteerism, mentoring or teaching.

Diversity Liaisons
The School of Medicine Clinical Department Chairs have appointed representatives to liaise between the Chairs, members of their specific department and the Office of Faculty Development and Diversity to assist with faculty concerns, ideas and the advancement of excellence at Stanford School of Medicine. To find out who your department liaison is, contact your Chair or Kathleen Victor of OFDD (kvictor@stanford.edu).

Minority Faculty Networking Luncheons
OFDD hosts lunch with a small group of minority faculty monthly to discuss research and clinical interests, faculty development concerns, and career advice across lines and ranks while providing an opportunity for faculty to get to know each other across different departments and specialties within Stanford. Unconscious Bias in Mendicine Online Course
OFDD developed this free CME activity which provides education on unconscious bias in the academic medicine workplace. Case studies will explore everyday examples of unconscious bias and exploring bias busting strategies to enable learners to understand how to bring the content into their own unique environments.
