Please join instructor Jessica Notini, lecturer at Stanford Law School as she discusses what makes a masterful negotiator and through this interactive session, identifies core skills for creating value and best practices for participating in the distributive, value claiming portions of a negotiation. Stanford Medicine Abilities Coalition (SMAC) Debut Event

Join us at The Stanford Medicine Abilities coalition April 15, 2019, 5:30pn in LK308. SMAC is composed of residents, fellows, postdocs, clinical and research faculty, and the School of Medicine staff. The goals of the coalition are to foster and advocate for the equal treatment and well-being of all in the Stanford School of Medicine community, promote disability as part of human diversity, inclusivity and equity, advocate accessibility and more.

 


The Successful K08/K23: A Reviewer's Perspective

Instructor Laure Aurelian, PhD, Senior Advisor for the Office of Faculty Development and Diversity, will discuss the different programs, and how to prepare an application that meets reviewers' expectations. She will present the most common misconceptions and provide an overview of the strategies to be used in order to write a competitive proposal. April 16 and 17, 2019, 8:30-10:30am, LK319A.

The Stanford School of Medicine Diversity Cabinet is working to enable partnerships across the Medical School continuum. Diversity activities at SoM are widespread and integrated into medical education curriculum, graduate medical education student activities as well as career development opportunities for faculty. CME Course on Unconscious Bias
OFDD has developed this free CME activity which provides education on unconscious bias in the academic medicine workplace. Case studies explore everyday examples of unconscious bias and explore bias-busting strategies to enable learners to understand how to bring the content into their own unique environments. Minority Faculty Networking Luncheons
OFDD hosts lunch with a small group of minority faculty monthly to discuss research and clinical interests, faculty development concerns, and career advice across lines and ranks while providing an opportunity for faculty to get to know each other across different departments and specialties within Stanford.
