At the City Council meeting of October 27, 2015, City Council directed the creation of a Charter Review Committee. The direction from the Council included review of the election system for the City Councilmembers, Councilmember compensation and other elements of the City Charter which are not in compliance with current laws or best practices. The Committee consists of 16 members, including one individual selected by each Councilmember and the Mayor, one member to be appointed by the Citizens Advisory Committee, one member to be appointed by the Chamber of Commerce, and six at-large members to be selected by the City Council.
