Fields of Study

Our long history with Silicon Valley has lead us to the deep and interesting research we do today. We have three core research areas that include Physical Technology & Science, Information Systems & Science, and Hardware/Software Systems. Many of our students and faculty also do multi-diciplinary work in areas like Biomedical and Energy research.

  • For an overview of the various types of Stanford EE research area and subareas, please visit The Big Picture page.
  • Visit our Faculty people listing where you can see who is doing the work you're interested in with links to details about those areas.
