The HR Solutions Group (HRSG) partners with University HR and University IT groups to analyze problems and opportunities for improvement and develop creative solutions that provide maximum value and enhance UHR capability and/or efficiency.

Identify

  • Frame the business problem at the right altitude and precision

Plan

  • Think end to end: are we solving the right problem, and solving all parts of it
  • Refine the business case with known benefits and costs over the project life cycle

Analyze

  • Discern root causes for symptoms
  • Discover and understand client requirements
  • Consider new and existing technologies that may help in this area
  • Examine data of all kinds to ensure that we have an accurate view of the problem and potential costs
  • Check the numbers so that we arrive at accurate conclusions and decide on the best of solution alternatives

Design

  • Listen well to capture user requirements in plain English
  • Gather user feedback so that the recommended solution is measured against the original business problem
  • Balance the needs of various stakeholders appropriately

Implement

  • Document test requirements and lead user acceptance testing
  • Iterate with Administrative Systems to fix or mitigate system issues before production rollout
  • Monitor implementations closely in early stages and quickly escalate and resolve issues

Support

  • Help client organizations consider the types of support their projects may generate. Scope out potential channels of support
  • Document common support issues to build a knowledgebase
  • Provide direct coverage during early rollout stages for a heightened level of support
  • Create supporting documents and train end users
