We are now accepting applications for Fall 2016
Application for Newly-Admitted First-Year PhD Students (entering Fall 2016):
Newly-admitted students will be considered for participation in the Training Program based on nominations from their advisor or department. Once a prospective student has been admitted to a PhD program, a faculty member should forward the student’s application file (electronically, if possible) to the Program Coordinator, Nadia Ahmed (nahmed@stanford.edu) by February 16, 2016 (for applicants in non-GSE departments, later applications are allowed). The file should include the applicant’s GRE scores, prior transcripts, CV, personal statement, and recommendations. The student must have an identified IES program advisor (one of the IES core faculty), if the primary faculty advisor is not a member of the Training Program faculty.
Application for Current First- and Second-Year PhD Students:
Interested current first- and second-year PhD students should submit application materials (electronically) to the Program Coordinator, Nadia Ahmed (nahmed@stanford.edu) by April 18, 2016 for participation in the 2016-2017 academic year. Applications should include a Stanford transcript; GRE scores; a CV; a 1-2 page personal statement describing the applicant’s interest in education policy and career goals; and a recommendation from the student’s primary faculty advisor. The application should also indicate who would be the student’s IES program advisor (who must be a member of the IES Training Program Faculty), if the primary faculty advisor is not a member of the Training Program faculty.
Please direct questions about the Training Program and application process to Sean Reardon (sean.reardon@stanford.edu) or Michelle Reininger (reininger@stanford.edu). Students who wish to participate in the Program but who are not eligible for funding or who have funding from other sources should send the same application materials. Please indicate if you are applying for a 4-year or 2-year Fellowship.
Decisions: Decisions on funding will be made within several weeks of the April 18 deadline.
