Note to School of Medicine Users

Stanford Medicine Box offers a secure platform for the appropriate sharing of Low, Moderate, and High Risk Data. We are actively migrating SoM users with access to High Risk Data from Stanford University Box to Stanford Medicine Box. We expect to complete this migration by the end of October.

If your Box account has yet to be migrated, you will receive an "Invalid login credentials" message when attempting to log into Stanford Medicine Box.

You can continue to use your Stanford University Box account during this transition. Your receipt of an "Invalid login credentials" message when attempting to log into the university instance indicates your account is now available through Stanford Medicine Box.

Stanford provides basic document management and collaboration through Box is an easy-to-use platform that you can log into with your Stanford credentials.

Box supports creation, management, and collaboration for documents that have been written in common desktop tools (for example, Microsoft Word, Excel), and includes a drag and drop interface and versioning.

    Stanford Medicine Box: unlimited storage per user

    Stanford Medicine Box: individual file sizes up to 15 GB
  • Desktop folder synchronization with Box
  • Encryption of files at Box and over the network
  • Mobile clients for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows.

Getting started

Eligible faculty, staff and students can go to or, depending on affiliation. Click Continue and log in to WebAuth with your SUNet ID and password. A Stanford Box account associated with your Stanford email address ( will be automatically provisioned. You can have either a Stanford University or a Stanford Medicine Box account; you cannot be a member of both.
