To commemorate the German national holiday Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Unity) on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017, there will be an Open House in Special Collections from 1:00PM-4:00PM featuring some of the miniature books and materials from the Germanic collections at Stanford Libraries.
The East Asia Library is pleased to announce a new exhibition entitled "Words in Characters: Books as Vehicles." Located in the entrance hall display cases, this exhibition explores intersections between art and language in contemporary Chinese culture.

On May 30, 2017, the East Asia Library hosted a public discussion entitled "Reflections on American Sinology and Sinologists," featuring author Susan Chan Egan and Dr. Ronald Egan, Chair and Professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures.

As part of its ongoing preservation and renovation programs, Stanford's department of Lands, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) has initiated a project to repair and clean the exterior facade of the historic Bing Wing of Green Library. This will be a three-year project, taking place in the summer of each of the next three years.
