Inspections are required for all permits that are issued. The type and number of inspections required depends on the type of work that is being done. Contact a building or fire inspector at the One-Stop Permit Center, (408) 730-7444, for specific project information.
Building inspections may be scheduled on-line at www.e-onestop.net
Building inspections may also be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (408) 730-7790. Most building inspections may be scheduled for the morning (8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) or afternoon (12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Special Inspections
Certain types of projects and construction methods require special inspections to be completed by a special inspection agency. Any required special inspections will be noted on the permit and plans. Refer to the Special Inspection List for a list of recognized special inspection agencies and Special Inspection Testing Forms for the required special inspection records/forms.
Electrical Equipment Testing Agencies
All electrical equipment shall meet one of the following requirements:
- Be listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) and labeled with the certification mark of that laboratory. A current list of NRTLs is on-line at: Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory Programs.
- Be field certified and labeled by a recognized third party electrical testing agency. A list of currently recognized agencies is listed below.
