If you have a full-service SUNet ID, are an administrator of a Stanford department’s or group’s AFS web space, and know which directory to install into, then you’re eligible to get started creating a Stanford WordPress site. - University IT provides a number of web publishing tools — not just WordPress. If you’re uncertain about WordPress as a platform for your site, see Compare WordPress and Drupal (Stanford Sites) or the Publish a Website guide.
- Stanford WordPress sites are not permitted to contain High Risk Data.
- You’ll need to apply packaged updates when notified by University IT, using the web-based Collaboration Tools Upgrader.
- When responding to HelpSU requests about your site, University IT may enlist the assistance of Stanford’s active WordPress community by referring you to the WordPress Users Email List or to the Tech Commons WordPress Topic Page.
