The Landscaping for Station Campuses and Third Party Access Contract consists of providing landscape irrigation system and planting at Milpitas and Berryessa BART Station Campus. It also includes general civil work for installing access gates, fence and community walls. 1. Construction of recycled water landscape irrigation system at the Milpitas Station Campus in the City of Milpitas. 2. Construction of potable water landscape irrigation system at the Berryessa Station Campus in the City of San Jose. 3. Installation of landscape planting in the Cities of Milpitas and San Jose. 4. Construction of a Native American contemplation garden at the Berryessa Station Campus in the City of San Jose. Installation of a stone monument. 5. Backfilling and compaction of excavations caused by removal of soil. 6. Construction of community walls at the Milpitas Station Campus. 7. Installation of protective fence at two overcrossings in the City of Milpitas at Abel Street (a Milpitas local road) and Calaveras Boulevard (a Caltrans highway). 8. Installation of access gates and fence along SVBX corridor (up to ten locations). The Work tasks include general civil construction such as minor demolition, block walls, grading, pavement, and curb and gutter. 9. There are other parties performing work at or near the site of the Work for this Contract. Construction access and laydown area will be shared with other parties. 10. Key items for Regulatory Compliance: a. Preparation and implementation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and Erosion and Sediment Control Action Plan Element (ESCAPE). b. Preparation of pertinent manifests or Bill of Lading for transportation and disposal of hazardous materials, if encountered. The C827 (16063) Santa Clara Caltrain Pedestrian Undercrossing project consist of the construction of approximately 80 feet long of precast concrete pedestrian underpass tunnel under an existing rail lines, including approximately 275 feet long by 36 feet wide cast-in-place concrete ramp/stair structure from the tunnel to grade on Brokaw Road. Construct associated drainage, electrical, lighting, station communications, civil and architectural elements. The project is located near the existing Santa Clara Caltrain Station Construction is anticipated to start in July 2016. During the construction period, the impacted rail lines servicing Caltrain, UPRR and other railroads, will be completely taken out of service during the four-day Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Contractor is required to complete the installation of all 14 segments of the new precast pedestrian underpass structure, including but not limiting to demolition, excavation, shoring, installing the tunnel segments and conduits, waterproofing, backfilling, and new ballast placement. Installation of these tunnel segments must be completed during this one time track closure. This project consists of installing VTA furnished Light Rail Transit Information Displays (LCD display units), with truss and NEMA enclosures including mounting brackets, and connecting them to existing visual message sign (VMS) power wiring and communication cables at twenty VTA light Rail Stations locations.
