Scope of work: Project consists of modifications to the Maintenance Shop building located at VTA Guadalupe Light Rail Division. Major components of work include the following:
A. Install a VTA furnished, pre-engineered, shallow pit light rail vehicle lifting system;
B. Provide a retractable, motorized, industrial grade dust control curtain system;
Project also includes selective demolition, excavation and foundation work, as well as modifications to existing building systems to facilitate the lifting system and dust control curtain installation, including the overhead catenary system, electrical, track, and plumbing systems.
Engineer Estimate Range is $1.5-$2.5M.
The time of Completion shall be 315 Calendar Days.

Scope of Work: The “Work” consists of: maintenance of all existing VTA elevators, lifts, and escalators including unscheduled call back, emergency and repair service, and periodic scheduled maintenance required to ensure its safe and efficient operation.

The Landscaping for Station Campuses and Third Party Access Contract consists of providing landscape irrigation system and planting at Milpitas and Berryessa BART Station Campus. It also includes general civil work for installing access gates, fence and community walls.
1. Construction of recycled water landscape irrigation system at the Milpitas Station Campus in the City of Milpitas.
2. Construction of potable water landscape irrigation system at the Berryessa Station Campus in the City of San Jose.
3. Installation of landscape planting in the Cities of Milpitas and San Jose.
4. Construction of a Native American contemplation garden at the Berryessa Station Campus in the City of San Jose. Installation of a stone monument.
5. Backfilling and compaction of excavations caused by removal of soil.
6. Construction of community walls at the Milpitas Station Campus.
7. Installation of protective fence at two overcrossings in the City of Milpitas at Abel Street (a Milpitas local road) and Calaveras Boulevard (a Caltrans highway).
8. Installation of access gates and fence along SVBX corridor (up to ten locations). The Work tasks include general civil construction such as minor demolition, block walls, grading, pavement, and curb and gutter.
9. There are other parties performing work at or near the site of the Work for this Contract. Construction access and laydown area will be shared with other parties.
10. Key items for Regulatory Compliance:
a. Preparation and implementation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and Erosion and Sediment Control Action Plan Element (ESCAPE).
b. Preparation of pertinent manifests or Bill of Lading for transportation and disposal of hazardous materials, if encountered. Proper management, disposal, and recordkeeping for hazardous materials and substances.
c. Preparation and implementation of traffic control plans.

Notice is hereby given that the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) has determined that all bidders on C827 (16063) Santa Clara Caltrain Pedestrian Undercrossing project to be undertaken by VTA must be pre-qualified prior to submitting a bid on that project. It is mandatory that all Contractors who intend to submit a bid fully complete the pre-qualification questionnaire, provide all materials requested herein, and be approved by VTA to be included on the final qualified Bidders list.
No bid will be accepted from a Contractor that has failed to comply with these requirements. If two or more business entities submit a bid as part of a Joint Venture, or expect to submit a bid as part of a Joint Venture, each entity within the Joint Venture must be separately qualified to bid. The last date to submit a fully completed questionnaire is March 18, 2016. Contractors are encouraged to submit pre-qualification packages as soon as possible, so that they may be notified of omissions of information to be remedied or of their pre-qualification status well in advance of the bid opening for this project.
The C827 (16063) Santa Clara Caltrain Pedestrian Undercrossing project consist of the construction of approximately 80 feet long of precast concrete pedestrian underpass tunnel under an existing rail lines, including approximately 275 feet long by 36 feet wide cast-in-place concrete ramp/stair structure from the tunnel to grade on Brokaw Road. Construct associated drainage, electrical, lighting, station communications, civil and architectural elements. The project is located near the existing Santa Clara Caltrain Station
Construction is anticipated to start in July 2016. During the construction period, the impacted rail lines servicing Caltrain, UPRR and other railroads, will be completely taken out of service during the four-day Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Contractor is required to complete the installation of all 14 segments of the new precast pedestrian underpass structure, including but not limiting to demolition, excavation, shoring, installing the tunnel segments and conduits, waterproofing, backfilling, and new ballast placement. Installation of these tunnel segments must be completed during this one time track closure.

The project consists of outside roadway improvements, station construction, and median busway improvements to facilitate a BRT line from the SAP Center to Capitol Avenue along Santa Clara Street and Alum Rock Avenue, extending south along Capitol Avenue and Capitol Expressway and terminating at the Eastridge Transit Center. The work generally includes, within the limits of US 101 to Alexander Drive, demolition of numerous features, excavation, AC and PCC paving, intersection reconstruction, signal installation, station lighting, station shelters and numerous station amenities, communication systems and ITS, landscaping and irrigation, drainage and sanitary sewer improvements, conduits, service connections, signing and striping, slurry seal surfacing, other miscellaneous works, and communications connections outside of work limits. In the area of the I-680 Alum Rock Ramp, work includes clearing and grubbing, tree removal, pavement work, signing and striping, signal modification, and minor earthwork associated with widening the roadway and restriping.
Engineer Estimate Range is $13,000,000. -$14,000,000.
The time of Completion shall be 275 calendar days.

The proposed POC will be connected to the second level of the Milpitas BART Station Parking Garage on one end, span Montague Expressway and land on the north side of Montague Expressway. Although the parking garage may not be open twenty-four hours a day, twenty-four hour access from the POC through the garage and down to the west entrance will be required. Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) requests proposals for the designing, manufacturing, testing, furnishing and delivery of equipment for Light Rail Signal Priority Detection Upgrades. LRV Signal Priority Detection Upgrades shall include all equipment, controls, enclosures, wiring, motors and all related items necessary for a complete, operating system.

Engineer Estimate Range is $40,000 -$80,000.
This project consists of installing VTA furnished Light Rail Transit Information Displays (LCD display units), with truss and NEMA enclosures including mounting brackets, and connecting them to existing visual message sign (VMS) power wiring and communication cables at twenty VTA light Rail Stations locations. The LCD display units shall replace existing VMS signs at certain locations. The work also includes installation of NEMA Boxes & mounting equipment within the NEMA Boxes and or outside per VTA direction. The work shall include furnishing and installing additional power wiring, communication cables and other equipment as shown on the plans and specs and to perform other work necessary including testing to integrate and make these units functional and operational per manufacturer’s requirements.
The time of Completion shall be 110 calendar days.
