EDS10 Home

The Office of the Executive Director for Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, and Turkey is a good mix of donor and client countries.  Our office represents the specific interests of our member countries - separately and jointly - at the Board of the World Bank Group.

We work with the other Executive Directors’ offices and with senior management of the World Bank Group to achieve its ambitious twin goals of (1) pushing extreme poverty to 3% by 2030, and (2) promoting shared prosperity (income growth of the bottom 40% of the population in each country).

At present, the Executive Director serves as a member of the Audit Committee, the Budget Committee, and the Ethics Committee. The office comprises staff from both donor and recipient countries and, thus, has unique insights into relevant problems from all development partners.

Our office staff comes from Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Hungary, Slovak Republic and Turkey; staff from Kosovo and Slovenia are located in the IMF Constituency office.

Franciscus Godts, from Belgium, is the current IBRD, IDA and IFC Executive Director and the current MIGA Director. Guenther Schoenleitner is the Austrian Alternate Executive Director.

This site provides an overview of the activities of the EDS10 constituent countries in the World Bank and aims to provide updates on their contributions and initiatives within the Bank Group.

Allocation of Votes by Organization

Member countries are allocated votes at the time of membership and subsequently for additional subscriptions to capital. Votes are allocated differently in each organization.

IBRD: Each member receives votes consisting of share votes (one vote for each share of the Bank's capital stock held by the member) plus basic votes (calculated so that the sum of all basic votes is equal to 5.55 percent of the sum of basic votes and share votes for all members).

IFC: Each member receives votes consisting of share votes (one vote for each share of IFC's capital stock held by the member) plus basic votes (calculated so that the sum of all basic votes is equal to 5.55 percent of the sum of basic votes and share votes for all members).

IDA: Each member receives the votes it is allocated under IDA replenishments according to the rules established in each IDA replenishment resolution. Votes consist of subscription votes and membership votes.

MIGA:  Each member receives votes consisting of share votes (one vote for each share of MIGA's capital stock held by the member) plus parity votes, calculated so that the aggregate number of votes of category 1 and category 2 members is the same. Members choose which category they want to join at the time of membership.  Category 1 members were originally defined as developed countries and category 2 members as developing countries.
