Meeting Schedule
The City Council holds regular meetings at least twice per month on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale. See below for the Meeting Calendar, as well as archives of previous meetings.
Agendas, Reports and Minutes
Beginning with the January 7, 2014 Council meeting agendas, reports and minutes will be available on InSite, the City's agenda management system web portal.
Tentative Council Meeting Agenda Calendar
The City's Tentative Council Meeting Agenda Calendar (TCMAC) lists Public Hearing items tentatively scheduled for upcoming Council dates. The TCMAC is updated weekly on Thursday. For a complete list of upcoming Council meeting dates, visit InSite.
Council Meeting Agendas
The agenda is the official guide for Council meetings. Prepared by staff in consultation with Council, the agenda includes current legislative and policy issues that must be reviewed by the full Council. By law, Council cannot take action on items or issues that are not listed on the agenda.
Items are placed on the agenda at the request of Council or staff members. Members of the public who would like Council to review a particular item should send a formal written request to the
Office of the Mayor. The Mayor will review the item, and the member of the public will be notified of any pending Council action or follow-up.
At least 72 hours prior to any regular Council meeting, the agenda is posted on the City's official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Senior Center, Community Center, Department of Public Safety lobby and is available at the Office of the City Clerk and Sunnyvale Public Library. Copies of related staff reports are also available in the Library after 10 a.m. and in the Office of the City Clerk after 8 a.m. the Friday before Council meetings, and on the night of the meeting on tables located in the rear of Council Chambers. Agendas, minutes, and reports are available on the
Council Meetings page.
Ways to Watch Council Meetings
Council Meetings are televised live on KSUN-15, the City's government access cable TV channel. Meetings are rebroadcast Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m.
Council Meetings are also available online at
InSite. Meetings are streamed live, and are available in the archive the following day. Archives are kept for three years.
Addressing Council
Every effort is made to ensure that the public has ample opportunity to address Council during a Council meeting.
The public has the opportunity to speak on all items listed on the agenda prior to Council taking final action. Speaker cards, available at the back of Council Chambers, should be filled out and handed to the
City Clerk prior to speaking. The Mayor will call speakers to the podium at the appropriate time. Speakers are limited to three minutes.
The public may address Council on issues or concerns regarding items
not on the agenda during Oral Communications. Speakers are limited to three minutes, and no Council discussion or action takes place at that time. Council may direct staff to handle matters involving regular City services. Any necessary Council action may be placed on a future agenda for full public consideration.
For instructions and tips on making presentations in Council Chambers, please see our
Making Public Comments During City Council or Planning Commission Meetings reference sheet.
