The Stanford University Libraries is pleased to invite you to attend a Poetry Reading and Spoken Word Performance by the writers and authors published in the new journal, As/Us: A Space for Women of the World.

As/Us is a space to showcase the creative literary expressions and scholarly work of both emerging and established women writers from around the world. As/Us is interested in publishing works by underrepresented writers, particularly Indigenous women and women of color. A talented panel of co-editors and writers from the journal will present their work and discuss their writing process.The list of panelists includes: Tria Andrews; Jennifer Elise Forester; Justine Kao; Casandra Lopez; Julie Lythcott-Haims; Juanita Mantz, and Tanaya Winder.

Amongst the panelists are individuals with strong ties to Stanford University. The co-editor and co-founder of As/Us, Tanaya Winder is a Stanford alumna. As one of the editors, Winder continues to engender the familiar Stanford "can do" spirit. Then there is Julie Lythcott-Haims, affectionately known as "Dean Julie".  We welcome her back to campus as her writing career unfolds. Presenting a creative nonfiction piece is Justine Kao. Kao attended Stanford as an undergrad and is currently a PhD Student of Cognitive Psychology here at Stanford. We are also pleased to present Jennifer Elise Forester, who was a Stanford University Walter Stegner Fellow in Poetry from 2008-2010. Her work is forthcoming in the next issue of As/Us.

Please join us as we welcome all of these talented writers as they showcase their work.

Special guest, Cherríe Moraga, highly acclaimed 20^th century playwright, poet, essayist, and activist educator will be the discussant.
