Will parking close all at once when the construction project starts?

Not all parking will close at once. The lots will be closed in a phased approach over several weeks and months. You can find alerts about parking impacts as they unfold on our "Alerts and Archive of EVGR Communications" page. P&TS and EV residents will be able to assess parking impacts and make adjustments as needed. Please be assured that P&TS will monitor parking utilization and will address concerns to the extent possible. Contact us at transportation@stanford.edu if you have concerns or suggestions.

Will households be able to purchase or extend EV parking permits?

Since construction is scheduled to begin during Winter Quarter, EV residents are allowed to purchase more than one permit per household through Jan. 8, 2017. Those with ES permits will continue to have access to parking in EV parking lots until construction begins. Prior to construction beginning, notices will be sent and posted and will include alternative parking options.

Why was the notice posted saying that parking would go away as of Oct. 15, 2016?

Oct. 15, 2016, was the earliest date we were given when construction might begin and parking could be eliminated. As in this case, construction projects sometimes have an estimated start date but are delayed. Rather than wait to communicate the anticipated parking changes when there may be little time for residents to plan and adjust, we communicated the expected changes based on the earliest potential date we were given. Our intention was that residents would then be able to anticipate and plan for the change well in advance
