November Bus Bridges

Service Announcement

Major Light Rail Shutdowns Scheduled November 14 -- November 22
Substitute Bus Service will be Available

Weekend Bus Bridge

When:

  • Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, 2015
  • Saturday, November 21 and Sunday November 22, 2015

What:

  • No light rail service between the Mountain View and Tasman stations.
  • Substitute bus service (“BUS BRIDGE”) will be provided between the Mountain View and Tasman stations and at all other affected stations, except Bayshore/NASA and Moffett Park.
  • There is no impact to service on the Santa Teresa-Alum Rock light rail line.
  • Please allow extra time to complete your trip on these days.

 

Weekday Bus Bridge

When:

  • Monday, November 16 through Friday, November 20, 2015

What:

  • No light rail service at the Mountain View or Whisman stations.
  • Substitute bus service (“BUS BRIDGE”) will be provided between the Mountain View and Middlefield stations.
  • A second bus bridge will connect the Whisman Station with the Middlefield Station. There will be no direct service between the Mountain View and Whisman stations.
  • Please allow extra time to complete your trip on these days.

Why:

VTA must make modifications to its light rail system in advance of Super Bowl 50, which is being held February 7, 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Construction Wrapping Up: Construction on the Mountain View Light Rail Double Track Project is almost complete.

November Bus Bridges: Light rail service will be replaced by substitute bus service for a portion of the system from Saturday, November 14 to Sunday, November 22.

Eastbound Bus Stops Relocating or Closing On Alum Rock Avenue: Bus stops located on Eastbound Alum Rock Avenue are being closed or relocated to allow for construction in the eastbound lanes between U.S. 101 and Jose Figueres Avenue.
