How to Apply for a Commission

Annual commission vacancies are filled in January, and in May for Teen Commission. Occasionally, there are unscheduled vacancies to be filled for the unexpired portion of the term. Check the "Current Commission Vacancies" link below.

Fill out the Online Commission Application (Teen use the PDF Teen Commission application) or download the PDF Commission Application and submit it to the City Clerk's Office. You will be notified when your interview is scheduled before the City Council.

Commission appointments are made by majority vote of the Council for a term of four years (two years for Teen Commission). Each member must be administered the Oath of Office by the City Clerk prior to the first meeting. All members (except Teen) are required to submit Statements of Economic Interest (Form 700) upon initial appointment and then annually. A final Statement is filed upon leaving the commission.
