Council Member - Rod G. Sinks

Rod Sinks was elected to the Cupertino City Council in November 2011 and he served as Mayor in 2015. His first term will end in 2016.

He champions issues including education, economy and environment. Regionally, he serves on the Bay Area Air Quality District Board, the Cities Association of Santa Clara County Executive Board, the VTA 85 Corridor Policy Advisory Board as Chair, and the founding cities task force on Community Choice Energy. He is on the City’s Audit and Fiscal Strategic Committees, and Council Liaison to local school districts. He served the community as a Scoutmaster and YMCA Adventure Guides Leader for many years, and currently serves on the Cupertino Rotary Board.

Rod earned a BA in Physics from Grinnell College and BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He helped lead two high tech start-ups from infancy to successful businesses in engineering management roles.
