The fewer materials are sent to landfills for burial, the fewer natural resources are wasted, the less the City spends on disposal, and the more money residents make at their garage sale.

The City encourages neighbors to work together to hold block sales and multi-family sales. Block sales and multi-family sales tend to draw more attention from customers, and are highlighted on the garage sale promotion material.

Garage sale participants register online with the City and the City also provides them with a helpful garage sale kit. The garage sale customers can access the garage sale information by picking up the printed garage sale list and map or by viewing the information online on the City's website. For more information, contact the Environmental Division of the Public Works Department at 408.777.3354.
