Program Officer, Conservation and Markets Initiatives

Heather is a program officer for the foundation’s Forests and Agricultural Markets and the Conservation and Financial Markets initiatives. She has also managed a portfolio oriented toward mainstreaming ecosystem services in natural resource decision-making, and mitigating climate change impacts by addressing deforestation and degradation. She ​serves as the foundation's representative to the Climate and Land Use Alliance.

Prior to joining the foundation, Heather was a rapid assessment program manager at Conservation International, where she led global assessments in critical ecosystems to inform natural resource management decisions. As program manager at Friends of the Osa, she focused on applied conservation and research in Costa Rica. Heather has served as a Yale Forestry and Environmental Studies Alumni board member and Conservation Measures Partnership board member and currently sits on the Kinship Conservation Advisory Board.  

Heather received a B.S. in Biology and Minor in Scandinavian literature from University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master’s degree in Science from Yale University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She was awarded a Kinship Conservation Fellowship in 2010.
