Scope of Work

The BioE/ChemE building will match the architectural character and appearance of the neighboring Y2E2, Huang, and Nano buildings. The new building will consist of three stories above grade and two basement levels below grade. The BioE/ChemE Building will be predominantly comprised of both wet and dry laboratory spaces designed for intensive research for each of the departments, as well as shared specialty labs available to faculty based in other campus facilities, support spaces, faculty offices, undergraduate teaching labs, classrooms, and conference spaces.

The building, formerly occupied by Stems Cells, Inc, is a two story, 69,000 GSF, laboratory building built in 1977. The renovation project was the second major renovation of the building. The scope included an upgrade of the existing laboratories and all of the mechanical systems along with a refresh the finishes throughout.
