University HR winter closure checklist

University Human Resources 2015 Winter Closure Checklist in the Cardinal at Work newsletter.

When the holidays roll around, days not only feel shorter but our lives also seem to get busier. To help you manage the hustle and bustle of December, we’ve prepared this checklist of recommended actions to complete before and immediately after 2015 winter closure.

The 2015 winter closure is scheduled Monday, December 21, 2015 through Friday, January 1, 2016, for those areas designated to close. Regular operations resume on Monday, January 4, 2016. The following dates have been designated as university holidays:

  • Thursday, December 24, 2015
  • Friday, December 25, 2015
  • Friday, January 1, 2016

Emergency Preparedness Kit

Emergency exit tours

To help you prepare for possible building evacuations, SUL Facilities and our Emergency Preparedness team is offering tours of all of the emergency exits in each of our two main campus buildings, Green Library (both Bing Wing and Green East) and Lathrop Library. Each tour will not take more than one hour. Tour schedule is below.  

  • Green East: Tuesday, December 15th @ 10am - Meet at the South Portal
  • Bing Wing: Tuesday, December 15th @ 2pm -  Meet at the Bing Wing Portal
  • Lathrop Library: Wednesday, December 16th @ 2pm - Meet in the Bishop Auditorium Lobby

There is no need to sign up for the tours. Anyone who comes to the meeting place is welcome to join. But do be on time, as tours will leave promptly.

Stanford Conservation Lab

Conservation Lab feature on 125th website

The Conservation Lab of the Stanford Libraries is now featured on the Stanford's 125th website. Kristen St. John, head of conservation services, worked directly with the writer to provide facts for the article, which is one of the official "125 Stanford Stories" on the site.
