Glen Worthey, Head of SUL's Digital Initiatives Group and Digital Humanities Librarian, recently posted a blog item on The Stanford Digital Humanities website titled Literary texts and the library in the digital age, or, How library DH is made. In this post, Glen provides a slightly edited version of a paper he gave at the 2013 Annual Conference of the American Library Association in Chicago.

In his talk, Glen wants his audience to understand why digital humanities belongs in the library, and how digital humanities has really been a part of the library world for decades. In his trademark metaphorical way, he supports his claim by pulling in the support of Samuel L. Jackson (kind of...) and retelling a nearly century-old Russian Formalist essay, "How Gogol’s ‘Overcoat’ is made,” by Boris Eikhenbaum.
