Overview

Escondido South is a vibrant area located between Rains, Studio One, and the Graduate Community Center.­ The neighborhood is made up of 88 two- to three-bedroom townhouses located in two-story buildings called “lowrises.” ­Escondido South has a nice green field/open space, a picnic area with grills and tables for student use, and two dedicated laundry rooms.

This region will be renovated in two phases during spring and summer of 2016.

Note: Students who want to bring their own bed may store the University bed at their own expense. No storage is available for unneeded furniture. Students provide their own cookware, dishes, utensils, towels, and other kitchen items.

Common Areas

Meeting Rooms ­

Escondido South residents may reserve, without charge, meeting rooms in the Graduate Community Center, the EV administration building, and the adjacent Village Center. Please visit the Graduate Community Center or Escondido Village Housing Front Desk page for details on eligibility and the reservation process.

Laundry Rooms ­

Rent includes Student Housing’s "Just Like Home" laundry program, which gives residents unlimited use of these washers and dryers; no coins or cards required.­

Escondido South laundry rooms are located in buildings 128 and 137.

Computer Clusters

Residents of Escondido South have access to all EV and Rains computer clusters.­ The two closest clusters ­are in Rains:­ Hacienda Commons 205, and Building 231. These computer clusters are equipped with Macintosh and Dell computers, laser printers, and various software applications.

Volleyball, Basketball and Tennis Courts

Escondido South has a large lawn in the center of the complex, which includes a grass volleyball court.­ Rains has sand volleyball courts, and Escondido Village has a sand volleyball court between Buildings 117 and 124 and a paved volleyball court, basketball court and tennis courts ­in the center of the village. All courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Barbecue grills and picnic tables near Building 133 available on a first-come, first-served basis.
