Fraternities and sororities have been a part of Stanford since the day the University opened in 1891. Greeks have enjoyed a vibrant and dynamic existence at Stanford, and today represent 25% of the undergraduate student population. Currently, 30 Greek organizations are formally recognized by the University—ten are housed on Stanford’s campus, seven Fraternities and three Sororities. Residents are required to purchase a house board plan.

Residents for Greek houses are chosen through the annual rush process. If you are interested in joining a sorority or fraternity please go to Greek Life at Stanford.

Mailing Address	Students living in Row Houses (Upper Row, Lower Row, Clusters 1, 2, or 3/Cowell) are strongly encouraged to follow the directions for the mail and package process provided on the Mail Delivery and Shipping page, as the PO Box address is each student’s official Stanford address and should be maintained during their entire undergraduate career. However, Row residents are also able to have mail packages delivered directly to their Row house by addressing mail and packages to the house's street address. Please be reminded that Student Housing/the University accepts no responsibility for packages sent to/delivered at individual residences.

Custodial Service	University managed
Furnishings	Each house is unique, but general furnishings in a typical student room include a bed, desk, chair, dresser or drawers, bookcase or bookshelves, closet or wardrobe, wastebasket, and recycle bin. Bathrooms are communal; single-gender.
Common Areas	Each house has a kitchen, dining room, lounge, computer cluster, and study area.
