Spring Break Inspections Reminder

Beginning spring break, R&DE Student Housing staff will be inspecting student rooms and apartments in undergraduate housing in preparation for June closing. Particular attention will be given to maintenance repairs (e.g., lights out, window/door locks, light covers), potential damages, lofted and bunked bed safety, fire-code related safety issues (such as candles, blocked evacuation maps, removed/covered smoke detectors). Inspection information sheets, noting violations, potential damages and service requests issued, will be left behind in all rooms inspected during spring break. Please be sure to carefully read over the inspection sheet and address all noted items, then sign and return the form to your local Housing Front Desk.

For more information, see Residence Agreement.

Moving to a new room?

All approved room moves must be completed by Saturday, March 21st.  In order to ensure your old room is ready for a new resident, we cannot allow any extensions to this deadline.  Please review the section titled "End of Winter Quarter" above for information about returning keys.

Undergraduates Not Eligible to Sublicense in University Housing

Please be aware that as an undergraduate, you are not eligible to sublicense/sublet within student housing. Please see policy information on unauthorized sublicensing on the R&DE Student Housing website.

Don't Forget About Your Room Phone

Did you know that your campus room comes with landline phone service? Simply plug in your phone in one of the while colored ports, just above your room's data jack (orange/red colored).

In case of campus emergencies, such as an earthquake, this landline service could be essential in case cell service is compromised. Having your phone hooked up will also allow guests to contact you from the DoorKing phones located at building entries.

If you don't have a phone, please visit your local Housing Front Desk for a replacement phone.

For more information on room phone service please visit the Stanford University IT page.

Security

Staying Safe: Keeping You & Your Belongings Safe!

  • Be sure to close and lock your windows and doors when you leave your room! Your personal belongings are vulnerable to theft when you leave entry points into your room open when you are not home.
  • Keep an eye out for "tailgaters" into your residence. This helps keep out "unwanted' visitors in your residence.
  • Close lobby and lounge windows at night.
  • Report suspicious individuals immediately by calling 9-1-1 from your cell phone or room phone.

We are here to help! Our goal in Student Housing is to make your Stanford home a comfortable, clean and safe environment.
