“Lane Presents - What can you do with Acrobat XI?”
Date: November 20, 2012
Time: 10:30-11:30 AM
Location: Li Ka Shing Center for Learning (LK120), Stanford School of Medicine
Join Adobe Education Solutions Consultant Rick Miller and Lane Library staff for a first look at the software that takes us one step closer to working more effectively with documents anywhere, on any device.
Adobe’s just-released Acrobat XI is a significant upgrade to the industry standard for PDF software. New features allow users to both edit and protect PDF documents, including the ability to:
- seamlessly convert PDFs to other formats – Word, Excel, PowerPoint – then back to PDF;
- work with new cloud services to create forms and analyze data (FormsCentral);
- electronically sign, send, and store documents (EchoSign);
- use enhanced commenting tools to easily annotate and share documents;
- protect institutional information by adding passwords to sensitive files, such as student and patient records, grant proposals, and research pages.
Touch-based capabilities on tablets and mobile devices allow users to resize and rotate images; add links, bookmarks, forms, and objects to a document; and edit, comment on, and annotate files on-the-fly.
Event is free, registration not required.
