Book display in Green Library featuring Presidential Inaugural Speeches and history.

On Monday, January 21, 2013, President Barack Obama will once again take the oath of office marking the 57th formal Presidential Inaugural ceremony since 1789. That Monday is also Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal holiday.

The 2013 Inaugural Ceremonies theme, “Faith in America’s Future” commemorates the United States’ perseverance and marks the 150th anniversary of the placement of the Statue of Freedom atop the U.S. Capitol dome.

Thanks to great teamwork, there is a book display in Green Library featuring Presidential Inaugural Speeches and history, as well as a poster of front pages of domestic and foreign newspapers covering the re-election of President Obama.

For more information, check out the official website,
especially Facts, First and Precedents.

You can view the inaugural ceremonies in Green Library, Social Sciences Resource Center (SSRC) classroom, which will be open at 8:00 am.

With coffee and pastries please? :)
I wish we could, but no food or drink in the libraries. Especially on holidays with no cleaning service available.
