REDWOOD CITY, CA - HighWire Press, Inc. announced today that it is consolidating the business development and publisher relations teams into a comprehensive publisher services organization led by Louise Page.

Integrating these two business groups extends HighWire's focus of building world class strategic relationships with scholarly publishers and the scholarly publishing community. Under Louise's leadership, the new market-facing team will draw on HighWire's core strengths, enabling them to innovate with greater speed and organizational efficiency in the constantly evolving field of digital publishing.

"This is a natural step in HighWire's progression as we continue to enhance our market strategy with both our current publisher partners, as well as the industry at large" said CEO Tom Rump. "Louise's extensive publishing expertise and hands on experience working with the HighWire community for the past decade made her an excellent choice to head up this combined group."

"There is a tremendous future in scholarly online publishing, and HighWire is well positioned to support its publishers and the industry during the rapid changes that are underway," said Louise.

Ms. Page has a rich background in scholarly publishing. Since joining HighWire in 2000, Louise has led the growth and success of some of HighWire's largest publishers. Her range is considerable: from the implementation of HighWire's Bench>Press manuscript tracking and management system, to the execution of the HighWire strategic roadmapping process. Before joining HighWire, Louise worked at John Wiley & Sons and Oxford University Press. In 1994, she conceived and launched the first online journal that became the catalyst for Wiley InterScience.
