IT Open House 2015 logo

This year's IT Open House, "What's in IT for U?", will be held October 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tresidder Oak Lounge and Meeting Rooms.

This annual event is a chance for Stanford University faculty, staff, and students to meet face-to-face under one roof with people who provide and support Stanford's IT infrastructure and services. Also at hand are many of the university's key third-party vendors and industry partners, who also help sponsor the event.

In “Programs that Pop,” Library Journal featured an Active Learning exercise created by Stanford’s Kathleen Tarr, a Program in Writing and Rhetoric instructor, and Felicia Smith, her class librarian. Similar to contestants in The Amazing Race reality television show, students compete to find books with unusual titles shelved by Library of Congress Classification in various library locations. The aim is to make the library experience engaging, fun, and memorable.

Read, The Amazing Library Titles Race, written by SUL's Head of Learning and Outreach Libarian Felicia Smith.
